"WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AS A FREELANCE DIRECT RESPONSE COPYWRITER?"

Prior to becoming a freelance technology copywriter, I had spent over 30 years in varied roles in engineering, program management and business development for defense, intelligence and information technology giants such as General Electric Company, Lockheed Martin Corporation and BAE Systems, Inc.

As you can well imagine, I had to write extensively in the technical and business sales areas throughout my career. White papers, case studies, brochures, data sheets, articles, etc. were the norm. I also had to understand both sides of the fence from a buyer’s and seller’s perspective. Additionally, I had to become extremely conversant across a broad spectrum of high technology areas since we built highly complex system-of-system solutions for the intelligence community, the defense industry and the IT communities.

I’ve received formal advanced copywriting training as a participating member of the prestigious American Writers and Artists Inc. (AWAI), the leading industry organization for training copywriters. I have attained their highest Circle of Success (COS) distinction, completing their entire core and advanced training programs for Direct Sales Copywriting, Business-to-Business (B2B) Programs, and Web Online Copywriting. I’ve participated in many seminars, conferences and workshops learning from the masters like Bob Bly, Mark Ford, Steve Slaunwhite, Clayton Makepeace, Dan Kennedy and Nick Usborne. I employ proven strategies from these masters that provide high performance and successful results for my clients.

"DO YOU HAVE A TECHNICAL BACKGROUND?"

I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD and an Advanced Degree Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering Studies at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA. I also have an MBA from the University of Southern California. Most of the work I do as a freelance copywriter is in online, direct response, and business-to-business marketing.

I've written copy in computers, electronics, engineering, software, financial services, information technology, telecommunications, consulting, corporate, online information marketing, and many other areas.

I've learned how to sell to corporate executives, entrepreneurs, managers, purchasing agents, technicians, engineers, IT professionals, investors, direct response buyers, and Internet users.

"HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE YOU TO WRITE MY COPY?"

Of course, it depends on the type of project. Normally, I like to have 3-4 weeks for freelance direct response copywriting assignments. That allows me the time to edit and revise until I'm satisfied with the quality of the work that I’m submitting to you.

If you can’t wait that long, I understand there are always rush jobs. If so, just tell me when you need it and I’ll see if I can accommodate it. If I do take the job, I guarantee that you will have the copy on your desk by the deadline-date--or sooner and it will be the right quality!

"WHAT HAPPENS IF WE WANT YOU TO REVISE THE COPY?"

Tell me what you want improved and what the changes are, and I'll make them--quickly. Revisions are included in the flat fee we've agreed to for the assignment, provided they are assigned within 30 days of your receipt of the copy and are not based on a change in the assignment made after copy has been submitted.

Most of my clients are pleased with my copy when they receive it. However, if you are not 100 percent satisfied, I will revise the copy according to your specific guidelines... and at my expense.

I'll also send a brief checklist that will help you collect the information I need to get started. Don’t worry about organizing anything – I’ll do that. Just collect all the information you can, and send it to me. If I have any questions, I’ll pick up the phone and ask.

Once you give me the go-ahead, I’ll analyze the background information and write the assignment for you. You will receive your copy on or before the deadline date. And remember... your satisfaction is guaranteed.

"DO YOU DO DESIGN AS WELL AS COPYWRITING?"

My expertise is copywriting. I am not a graphic designer. I usually do provide suggestions on the general layout and choice of graphics to enhance my content.

However, if you do need design as well as copy, I can:

·      Work with your preferred designer or design firm, or

·      Recommend a number of high quality freelance designers who special in both the layout and design of both print and          online marketing materials

Both way, I will collaborate closely with your chosen designer to make sure the copy and graphics work together to increase response.

Also – upon your request, and at no additional charge – I will review the design proofs before they go to press to make sure all elements are laid out for maximum effect.
